Mike was killed in the line of duty June 14, 2016, when he was struck by another vehicle while on his police motorcycle. Six months later their dream home out in the country, which they had been renovating, flooded not once, but five times in the January 2017 winter storms. Literally, through hell and high-water April has had to be strong for her two sons and rely on God every step of the way. God has blessed April and her boys beyond belief. She has found love after loss with her husband on earth, David. David has blessed her with a bonus son and daughter. They also recently welcomed a baby girl into their blended family. We may never understand why God allowed the tragedies in April and her sons’ lives to happen, yet we do know that He has been and always will be in control. April now hopes to share her beauty from ashes redemptive story to help encourage others, honor her husband in heaven and glorify all God has done in her life.
