I have dreamt about what heaven would be like since I was a little girl. I learned about heaven in Sunday School, from my parents, from reading the Bible myself. I took courses in college on the book of Revelation while pursuing my Biblical Studies minor.
I know heaven is amazing, yet that word will never even do heaven any justice. I don’t think any description I read or I attempt to write will compare to the moment you enter those pearly gates and see heaven for yourself.
I am so jealous that Mike got to see heaven before me. I am even a little mad at him for it.
On June 14, 2016, Mike was welcomed into heaven. That evening the angels rejoiced and celebrated his arrival.
I am jealous of the angels.
I wish I could have seen his face when he first stepped foot on the streets of gold. I wish I could have witnessed the embrace between him and Jesus.
There is a beautiful song by Donna Taggart that I love. I can’t listen to it without crying and I feel every single emotion and word in the lyrics. You can listen to the full song HERE.
Jealous of the Angles
“I didn’t know today would be our last
Or that I’d have to say goodbye to you so fast
I’m so numb, I can’t feel anymore
Prayin’ you’d just walk back through that door
And tell me that I was only dreamin’
You’re not really gone as long as I believe
There will be another angel
Around the throne tonight
Your love lives on inside of me
And I will hold on tight
It’s not my place to question
Only God knows why
I’m just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight
In a world where heroes come and go
Well God just took the only one I know
So I’ll hold you as close as I can
Longing for the day, when I see your face again
But until then
It’s not my place to question
Only God knows why
I’m just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight”
One day I will get to walk on those streets of gold too. One day I will jump into the arms of Jesus and feel his embrace.
One day I will get to see Mike again.
Until then, I will be jealous of the angels.
Until then, I will invite as many people as I can to join me in heaven.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and choose to invite Him into your heart and have a personal relationship with Him, God promises you eternal life. It’s like an open invitation to come join the party in heaven.
All you have to do is RSVP with a yes.
Mike was the best at sharing his faith with others. I always admired his confidence in his relationship with Christ and his Godly wisdom he would share with me and so many others who crossed his path.
If you have ever wondered about heaven or what it would be like to have a relationship with Christ I’d love to share more with you.
You can always contact me HERE. I would love to hear from you!
Heaven sounds so good to me. I want to hear Well Done, from Jesus, then find Hank.lol
